Commemorative Tree Program

Established in 1998, the Commemorative Tree Program was created so that people could have the opportunity to recognize someone special with the planting of a tree and commemorative plaque. All residents, visitors, and guests are invited to participate in this living legacy program. The City of Armstrong will take great pleasure maintaining the trees and cairn to commemorate the positive influence of our neighbours and friends.

Community Bench Program

The Community Bench Program provides a means to dedicate, and maintain City benches in recognition of the contributions of people or to commemorate special events or occasions. Individuals, groups of individuals (such as families), businesses, and other organizations may make a financial contribution towards the community bench program which includes a plaque indicating the donor(s) and the dedication. Placement of benches will be determined on an individual basis, with consultation occurring between the donor(s) and City staff, and other agencies as needed. Staff will endeavour to place benches in requested areas.
