To vote in the City of Armstrong, you must meet all of the following requirements:

Resident Electors:

You may vote as a resident elector if you:

• Are 18 years of age or older on voting day
• Are a Canadian citizen
• Have been a resident of British Columbia for at least six months  immediately before voting day
• Live in the City of Armstrong on voting day
• Are not disqualified under the Local Government Act or any other law from voting in a local election

Non-Resident Property Electors:

If you live elsewhere but own property in Armstrong, you may be eligible to vote as a non-resident property elector if you:

• Are 18 years of age or older on voting day
• Are a Canadian citizen
• Have been a resident of British Columbia for at least six months  immediately before voting day
• Are the registered owner of property in the City of Armstrong for at least 30 days before voting day
• Are not registered as a resident elector in Armstrong
• Are not disqualified under the Local Government Act or any other law from voting

If the property is owned by more than one person, only one owner may vote, with written consent from the other owners.

Eligible resident electors and non-resident property electors may request to vote by mail.

To vote by mail, follow these three steps:

1. Request your mail ballot package

Submit a written request to the Chief Election Officer, no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2026.

• Your request must include:
• Your full name
• Whether you are a resident elector or a non-resident property elector
• Your residential address
• The address of the property you are voting for (non-resident property electors only)
• Your preferred method of receiving your mail ballot package:
• Pick-up in person at City Hall (3535 Bridge Street, Armstrong, B.C.)
• Regular mail via Canada Post to your residential address
• Regular mail via Canada Post to an alternate address that you provide with your request.
• Courier delivery (at your expense).
• Submit your request using one of the following methods:

2. Receive your mail ballot package:

You may receive your mail ballot package by:

• Picking it up at City Hall (you may authorize another person to pick it up on your behalf), or
• Receiving it by mail at the address you provided.

Mail ballot packages will be prepared and mailed out on or about September 25, 2026.

3. Complete and return your mail ballot package

Complete your mail ballot package. In order for your ballot to be counted, it must be received by the Chief Election Officer no later than 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2026 (General Voting Day)

Note that it is the obligation of the person requesting to vote by mail ballot to ensure that the completed mail ballot package is received by the Chief Election Officer by the deadline.

Postmarks will not be accepted as the date of submission.
